iWitnessTV (Prisoners using drugs and drinking in prison)

I spent the better part of my teenage & early adulthood in the MDOC (Michigan Department of Corrections) from August 4, 1994 - November 21, 2003. During that period, cell phones weren't as prevalent in society as there are now in 2013. My song "iWitness"(A.R.T. illustrates to the audience a visual walk through of jail life but I could never explain it to you this way. Watch the video below of inmates who are living in prison/jail like it's Crack house or Drug spot in Louisiana and it is a direct reflection of DETROIT and the prisons in MICHIGAN #BELIEVEDAT after the jump click the video.

Detroit's Lost Gold by Seven the General

Generational disconnect in HipHop has existed since the days of Kool Moe Dee vs LL Cool J. On the other hand regional pride & the illustration of local culture are some of the pillars of rap. Whether people want to admit it or not "Rap/ HipHop" has Rules! Criterium that qualifies those who meet and or excel the par as Great. More than sales or monetary accumulation the music that scores an era is to be celebrated by the generations that follow or why make it?

I grew up watching Detroit rap on the JukeBox channel 41 Barden Cable... Coleman Young was our Mayor, YBI had just been dismantled and Bass music & Techno was party music cuz that clubbin sound was for "Marks" (victims) guys would post outside the clubs, wait for the older guys to hide they guns on top of the front tire, of their cars and steal them right after. So in my day house parties were for gangstaz & clubs was for preps!

If you've ever been to Chicago the culture of stepping knows no affiliation it's simply a Chi-Town thang'. Detroit is the same way, some things are just universal and demands respect. I'm a upholder of Detroit & a vanguard of its culture. Let me hip you to Detroit's Hip hop/ Rap Lost Gold!

70's The Pimp Jerk (The Jerk) dance created by Detroit pimps who wanted to gig but not sweat or ruin their hair.

80's The Errol Flynn (Earl Flynn) dance created by Detroit Gang Bangers who wanted to dance but not sweat out their clothes & ruin their hair!.

Other notables hood dances that have the aesthetics of a Los Angeles blood walk or Crip dance,

The Schoolcraft
The Jerry Lewis
The Prep
The Smurf German & Califonia
The Jit

We have to protect our own legacy Detroit we are the birthplace of Detroit's Most Wanted, Esham, Dilla, D12, ICP, StreetLords, Rock Bottom, ES Chedda, Boys, DoughBoyz Cashout, Big Sean...

When dudes say to me "Sev listen to my music bro I don't sound like a Detroit rapper"... You've just lost my attention & respect to be honest. This simply means that they have a self hatred & an envy of those whom have overcame odds to get where they are.

Remembering this is the equivalent of having a universal key to the cities locked Doors.... Contrary to popular belief.... There are MAJOR labels inside of Detroit hunting for the next thing now! Your knowledge, attitude & character are the only ways to access these doors of opportunity. Illuminati? Naw more like what reason have you've given someone to let you in & invest money on you? Make you, Your Brand!

Respectfully to those who paved the way for Detroit Rap!!

Seven The General - A.R.T. (The DIA Project) Produced entirely by Nick Speed

Seven the General's brand New FREE ALBUM is not a mixtape even though released exclusively through per PROPANE MEDIA it is actually Seven's DEBUT EP 10 tracks of Seven's raw emotions and opinions over Nick Speed's production.... Seven & Speed locked themselves in the studio and made a song a day! Footage coming soon of the process Nick & Seven would take a smoke & drink break come into the lab...Nick would make a beat on the spot & Seven would write a song of the topics of discussion during the smoke session... So this is litterally REAL pun intended... Sit back with the album....SMOKE SOMETHING FIRST!!! THEN LET IT PLAY FROM 1-10 straight and Let the Lyrics take you were WE WERE..... ENJOY...... SUN TZU OF THE CITY COMING SOON 2013....

Before they steal the DETROIT JIT by Seven the General

I've been watching the rise of all of these "Harlem Shake" video's on top of the fact Forbes magazine rated Detroit the #1 most miserable city to live in. First, let me say that was some of the most disrespectful shit I've ever heard someone say about my beloved city.
Now that the other side of 8 mile has applied for FIA shit done got real outchea huh? We as residents of Detroit have lived harmoniously this way since 1701 (75 years before America gained her independence) Now that the so-called "middle class" has to come down to the HOOD shit is REAL... To those of you who criticize Detroit, be aware of the supreme racial divide that exists.

Detroit is a Northern city that operates off of southern Jim Crowish type laws... We are a self segregated city...we don't cross 8 mile and we don't let them cross it either...that's the way of the that our violence and crime has spilled over 8 mile they've ran to 15 mile.....we never cared let em run...just don't let em run the city..

Now my next gripe

this Harlem Shake shit, I cannot front them video's are HILARIOUS! The problem is the total disrespect of that culture....ATLANTA (yes I SAID IT NIGGA).... namely Jeezy and every other crack box TRAP RAPPER have PILLAGED the Detroit Culture and Spit it out to the world as if they are the originators of it!
WE ALL KNOW WHERE THEM NIGGAZ GOT THEY GAME FROM!!! AND WE ALL KNOW WHERE THEM NIGGAZ WAS FROM! How dare these niggaz rap bout being in spots young with crack & blow etc... when WE TAUGHT IT TO THEM! BLASPHEMY! Now the world views us as unoriginal SMFH, and now to top it off that WINDOW IS CLOSED MY NIGGAZ! Cocaine ain't even selling that good no more so all this drug lord shit is getting outta hand...STOP IT!! PLEASE NIGGA! CUT THE CRAP OK?

let's move on

never abandon your true life but if you gone tell me a story make the shit believable...Now Before these muthafuggaz steal something so connected to US DETROITERS let me say it Here and Now...THE JIT BELONGS TO DETROIT..... IT WAS ORIGINATED HERE AND THAT'S THAT! THERE IS ONLY 2 versions WESTSIDE & EASTSIDE
and this!!!! my niggaz,..... is our CRIP WALK no blue flag doe...

BE PROUD OF YOU your history! all my hip-hop rap cats that's have respect for the city...

Detroit's Street culture by Seven the General

To call any neighbohood in Detroit a gang's territory that doesn't originate from Detroit is the same as allowing an outsider to come to your town and take over. 7 Mile is neither Crip nor Blood, neither GD or Vice lord. The streets of Detroit hold NO affiliation with any set and can only be claimed by the residents of that respective neighborhood. How can you live on 8 mile and claim/say your from Joy Rd? This makes NO SENSE and if this applies to you here is an article retrieved from the metro time about Detroit

No Crips
"Detroit has never been the home to the kind of all-encompassing urban gangs that are associated with the roots of gangster rap in places like Los Angeles — with its infamous Crips and Bloods — in the 1980s. But Detroit has its loose neighborhood outfits.
Visit Platinum Records on West Seven Mile Road, and the owner, who refers to herself as “Mama Theresa,” will point out promotional posters for local rappers on her walls. And she’ll tell you who’s associated with the Joy Road crowd, with Puritan Avenue, who hails from Schoolcraft and Seven Mile roads. Her small storefront shop is an outlet for local hip-hop talent. She says her church sisters criticize her for selling “that rap, but it’s what the kids do.” If it will keep them doing something constructive, she will support them. Besides, she says, most of them are not violent.
But beyond the neighborhood demarcations, no geographical marker divides Detroit’s rap world more than the division between West Side and East Side.
West Side neighborhoods, according to Dr. Carl Taylor, a Detroiter who teaches sociology at Michigan State University, are associated with middle-class lifestyles. They are somewhat more affluent than many East Side enclaves, which are considered poorer, more meager areas.
Police say street thugs sometimes carry the same mentalities. East Side hustlers tend to be more conservative, while West Siders are more likely to be big spenders.
Taylor says the East and West Side rivalry goes back to the heyday of Detroit’s Black Bottom neighborhood in the 1950s and before.
“The East Side was always considered primitive,” he says. “Brothers were known as rough, street-ready warriors. Niggas on East Side had lots of gangs. Even skin pigmentation was an issue, light-skinned niggas versus dark-skinned niggas. It goes all [the] way back to Hastings. When you talk Seven Mile, like by U of D High, you were there. That’s where the money was. Say you had a girl who lived over there, you made it.”
Police do not discount the role this decades-old tension between East and West may have played"

I Seven the General in NO WAY condone violence in any form! This post was to point out the miseducation of the gang-banger in Detroit with hopes of redirecting that energy into pride in the Neighborhoods of Detroit by it's residents. My niggaz dont destroy your block CLEAN IT UP! KEEP IT SAFE for the BABIES & ELDERLY! THATS GANGSTA...

The Internet is TIME TRAVEL by Seven the General

We've all seen the Matrix where the characters basically LOG ON and become whoever they want to be and have all the tools of the universe at their hands. Doesn't this sound eerily familiar? I believe that we have to look at things from different angles to try to see it in various ways. To me the internet is that matrix, and within it are all the components of for time travel. How is it that there exists a device that has the capabilities to pull up footage of nearly any time period? If you wanted you can pull up footage of world war II and watch as if you were actually there. It's amazing to me that we now live in the Jetson's era... What do you think?
